We’re Back! NW Homeworks Blog Returns for 2026
Family friendly Seattle area kitchen remodel Benjamin Moore’s “Hale Navy” blue for the Island, and a gorgeous quartz waterfall countertop.
Hey neighbors,
If you’ve just clicked on this blog, you might have noticed things went quiet for a while. Ten years quiet, actually! (Our last post was back in July 2016 — yikes!) But today we’re excited to say — we’re back, and better than ever.
First, a little honesty: keeping the blog (and the old website) updated while running a full-tilt remodeling business across Seattle, Tacoma, Kirkland, Bellevue, West Seattle, Bainbridge Island, and the rest of the Puget Sound just got… tough. When you’re knee-deep in 100-year-old lath and plaster dust, surrounded by stacks of IKEA kitchen boxes, not to mention the endless paperwork and client emails, something has to give. The blog took the hit.
Not quite literally knee deep in 100-year-old-lath and plaster dust. From one of our recent, and typical Seattle area remodel.
But here’s the good news: those ten years of non-stop work have made us even better at what we do. We’ve picked up so many new tricks, smarter ways to stretch budgets, and real-world insights that only come from hundreds of finished projects. And we’ve missed sharing them with you.
That’s why we decided it was time to resurrect the blog — and launch this shiny new website at the same time.
Why now?
We want to reach more homeowners who are dreaming about their next remodel. Whether you’re in Tacoma looking for a practical laundry-to-mudroom upgrade, in Capitol Hill hoping to turn standard IKEA cabinets into something no one will believe is IKEA, or on the Eastside needing a to overhaul a full bathroom that hasn’t been touched since the 1950s — we want to be the resource that helps you get there.
We also just love sharing the knowledge we’ve gained. The little hacks that save thousands, the design decisions that make a space feel twice as big, the materials that actually hold up in our wet Pacific Northwest climate… all of it.
What you can expect going forward
Starting right now, we’ll be posting regularly again in our own personal, honest, detailed style, with:
Lots of high-quality photos (the kind you can actually zoom in on)
Clear before-and-afters so you can see exactly what changed
Step-by-step project breakdowns
Inside tips and tricks we only share here
And plenty of real Puget Sound projects — no stock photos, no fluff
The first few posts you’ll see coming up include: • Fully custom built-ins for a kids’ bedroom (think creative storage that actually grows with them) • A complete bathroom remodel in a home that hasn’t been touched since the 1950s • Another deep dive into IKEA PAX wardrobe systems and how we turn them into seamless custom closets • And a whole lot more — kitchens, living rooms, laundry/mudrooms, you name it
Vintage 1930s sink from one of our past Seattle-area bathroom remodels. Don't worry — we didn't send it to the landfill! Instead, we donated it to Second Use, our local salvage spot, so some lucky homeowner can give it a new life.
We’re also planning some fun “Ask Us Anything” style posts where we answer the questions we hear most from Seattle and Tacoma homeowners.
So whether you’re just starting to research your project or you’re ready to schedule a consultation, we’re here and we can’t wait to help.
Drop us a comment below if there’s a specific type of remodel you’d love to see next (or if you recognize one of the upcoming projects — we might even feature your home!). And if you’re ready to talk about your own dream kitchen, bath, or built-in project, reach out anytime — we answer every inquiry personally.
Thanks for stopping by our new blog. The best projects are still ahead.
